RICK HUSBAND AMARILLO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

Shiver Megert & Associates, LLP was selected by the City of Amarillo to provide full Architectural & Engineering services in the design of the New Terminal Addition at Rick Husband Amarillo International Airport.

The elliptical design, dubbed Intersecting Horizons, features a hub that guides departing passengers along gentle perimeter curves to escalators & the baggage claim area. Arriving passengers travel through a central area for passenger screening. At the center of the terminal, shuttle astronaut Rick Husband’s statue stands near a recessed ceiling that sparkles with fiber-optic stars.
